Choosing a Life Well Lived: How to Recreate Your Career and Life Through Value-Based Choices
If you are at a major decision point in your life or know someone who is at a crossroad in his or her career or life, this workbook can help clarify possible options and directions. As you work your way through the processes within this book, you will discover what you can do NOW to make choices that are aligned with your core life values. You will learn how to break free from the mental and emotional bonds that may be holding you back from the career and life of your dreams. During your journey, you may also find that you become more spiritually centered so your life takes on a larger and more meaningful purpose.
Alan has combined three decades of human resource development and adult education experience with his entrepreneurial lessons-learned to produce what people are saying is a clear, effective, and thought-provoking workbook.
In writing this book, Alan had several key goals in mind. His primary goal was to use what he had learned along the way to transition his own career and life to a place where he felt excitement and joy each and every day – becoming a fulltime visual artist and moving from the cold winters of the Northeast to the tropical warmth of Sarasota, Florida. “I wanted to be the example, the guinea pig, to test the process with assuredness.” Since those beginning stages, Alan learned much more than expected and has implemented all of the processes outlined in this book, allowing him to speak with some experience and authority on these subjects.

Homeowners seek out an original Alan Zawacki tropical seascape or landscape painting to create a dramatic focal point of color, peacefulness, tropical ambiance and artistic excellence. Alan specializes in painting large and small tropical seascapes and landscapes of Florida and the Caribbean. His award winning work has been featured in many juried group exhibitions as well as one-man gallery shows.
Although it had been a secondary career in the past, Alan has been a professional artist for over 30 years. Since transitioning from a long and successful human resource development and adult education career to painting as his primary occupation, Alan divides his time between studio painting and plein air painting. He is an Associate Member of Plein Air Florida and regularly paints on-site with the local chapter, The Light Chasers. His philosophy is that his work is at its best when it brings others a sense of joy, peace, energy, and appreciation of nature. Individuals who collect Alan’s work say they feel transported to the place itself.
Alan is primarily self-taught, although his skill over the years has been deeply enhanced through study with internationally acclaimed artist-instructors.

My Inspiration Gained Through Travel
"I want to capture the essence and feeling of the islands within my paintings. The lush tropical foliage, the warmth of the sun and the sand, and the sparkling clear water. Sometimes I capture this by painting on-site and other times I bring the memories and photographs home to recreate in my studio."
